HoursRight

Privacy policy

Last updated: 15 September 2026 · UK

HoursRight (“the app”) is a personal shift and offer ledger for UK zero-hours, low-hours, and agency workers. This policy explains what data is involved and how it is handled. See also the terms and conditions.

Who we are

The app is published by LukeDev.co.uk. Contact: contact@lukedev.co.uk.

Data we store

The following are stored only on your device (local storage and, if you choose, the secure keystore for app lock). We do not operate an account system and we do not run an HoursRight cloud backend for your shift data.

Data we collect

For normal use we collect no personal data off your device. There is no advertising SDK and no analytics SDK that identifies you across apps or websites. HoursRight is a personal record aid only; it is not legal advice and does not send your ledger to employers, solicitors, or government services unless you export and share a file yourself.

Photos and screenshots

If you attach a rota or message screenshot, the image is copied into the app’s private storage on your device. It is not uploaded to an HoursRight server. You can remove an attachment before saving, or clear app data / uninstall to remove stored files.

Biometric app lock

If you enable app lock, HoursRight uses the device biometric or screen-lock APIs (Face ID / fingerprint / device credential). Biometric templates stay in the platform secure enclave; HoursRight only receives a yes/no unlock result.

Optional export

If you export a PDF evidence pack or CSV, the file is generated on your device and shared only by you through the system share sheet. We do not receive a copy.

Home-screen widget

On Android, an optional Pro widget may show this week’s hours on your home screen. That summary is read from local app storage on the device. It is not sent to a server.

App stores

Distribution and any store account activity are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play under their own privacy policies. HoursRight does not receive your payment card details.

Permissions

Children

HoursRight is intended for adults in work. It is not directed at children under 13.

Your rights (UK GDPR)

Because core data never leaves your device, you control it directly: edit or delete shifts and jobs in the app, remove attachments, revoke permissions in system settings, or uninstall the app to remove local data. For privacy questions, email contact@lukedev.co.uk.

UK data protection

Because your ledger stays on your device and is not collected by an HoursRight server, we do not operate a cloud database of your shifts. If that changes in a future version, this policy will be updated before any such change ships.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above. Material changes will be reflected in the App Store and Play Store listings where required.
